1 Month 1 Week Later

Ever wondered the miracle of braces? I gotten my brackets on in Aug, Aug 21st to be exact. ($600 paid!) Back then my friends told me my teeth didn't looked that bad without braces. But with braces, it just showed how crooked it was. LoL. Ya just look at the 2 front teeth. I went to the dentist yesterday for my first follow up..and the difference is amazing in just a short 5 weeks..



TADAH!! In case you were wondering, my teeth didn't get whiter. It's just that the wires tying my brackets were removed and in place, rubber bands were put. Actually my teeth got a little straighter by end of 2nd week. Now, it's not obvious anymore that I've braces!! Yeah!!

But then, yesterday my dentist put 2 metal rings around two of my bottom 2nd last teeth and it hurts like hell. The metal rings were cutting my tongue and by end of yesterday, my tongue was bleeding. I couldn't eat, speak nor swallow. Things are better today. I managed to eat a bowl of porridge in 2 hours. The pain I'm going through to be pretty. I must be mad. Oh yah, from yesterday onwards, my monthly payment will only be $160!! Yeah!! I'm running low on my reserves liao. =P I'll be putting brackets on my lower teeth next month...so got 1 month for me to eat whatever I can. Cause with braces, the teeth feels as if they're dropping off and has no strength. I can't chew on chicken bones nor bite off mushrooms. I've to chew slowly and cut everything into bite size. Is this why those people with braces actually slim down? LoL. OK gotta go get ready. I'm sending my nanny off on her last journey later...ciaoz!

I'm Too Late....Again....

I just received news from my nanny's daughter that my nanny had just passed away. I'm in shock now. This nanny used to be my neighbour who lived 3 doors away. This was also the same nanny that looked after me since I was 6 mths old till I was in primary 5. She moved away when I was in sec 1. She moved to Jalan Tenaga, just 3 bus stops away. But ever since she moved, I've never been to visit her except once. I kept telling my mom that I would go over during CNY, but it never happened.

She's gone. I wanted to visit her. Really. She lived very near to my student and I was thinking of dropping by. Now it's too late. Now...I can only go to her wake. She was the one who taught me so much about Christianity, till I told my mom I wanted to be a Christian when I was younger. She was the one who made ngor hiam and made sure she gave me plenty cause I liked it so much. She was the one who taught me hokkien when I was younger till I told everyone I'm a Hokkien instead of Hainanese. Too late le. I no longer can tell her that I'm currently studying uni. I can no longer taste her ngor hiam. I can no longer call her 'mi mi' (short for mummy). I'm sorry for not visiting you. Think the last time I saw her was during her mother-in-law's funeral back in 1998. 10 years le. Really sorry....forgive me can mi mi...I missed you. I'm really sorry.....

Stressed Up Again

Why I so easily stressed? My lips are swollen again. Damn. Just got rid of the swollen lips after handing in my essay. Then now swollen again. Why? Cause tml got quiz!! ARGH!! Later must study liao. Haven't do finish my assignment which is due tml somemore. Sigh. Must jiayou and work hard later. Take a break now first. Ciaoz.

GCA and The Sims 2

I went GCA on Sat with Feng. Wanted to drop a surprise for him cause one of the games he's playing will be having an exhibition there. Sadly we couldn't find Asiasoft (my bad..saw wrongly) else we could have bought some MS cards. However, I knew Ubisoft (creator of Settlers I and II), EA games (The Sims! C&C etc) and Viwawa will be there. I told Feng no matter what I'm getting the latest expansion pack for The Sims 2 - Apartment life.



I've waited for the expansion pack since March or April. And it was released in Aug. Piangz, I waited so long then didn't buy cause it's $40+ lor. In the end we went to EA games counter and I did the deed. Not only that, I pre-ordered an add on, which will be out in Oct or Nov I guess. And like that, within 10min, I spent $70. -_-"



But I'm one happy girl lor!! Just look!! It's complete as of now!! I've ALL expansion packs and add ons available!! And note that they're all ORIGINAL. Jiawei says I'm crazy to buy original games. Feng couldn't comprehend why I kept on buying and buying. How much in total did I spend? Minus the first 2, The Sims 2 and The Sims University, I should have spent more than $500 on these games. All I know is those yellow ones costs $25.90 (25.90 X 7), the expansion packs costs around $45.90 (45.90 x 6) and the Happy Holidays version costs $39.90. Total..$496.80. That's exluding the pre-order add on which costs $25.90. The first 2 were given to me by friends. LoL. Oh ya, did I mention The Sims 3 is coming out next year? LoL.

Me in total bliss. Except wasn't that happy when I was paying though. The guy (should be from Comics Connection or EA or whatever) was damn rude and arrogant. Give me attitude somemore. Kept telling me that the expansion pack I'm buying is for PC only. HELLO! Lao niang me had been playing with The Sims longer than you had been drinking milk lor!! I started playing this game at age of 17 when the game was still in 2D format and the characters can't drive their cars to work and kids won't grow up. *Slaps* And total is >$30 that's why I'm using credit card. Fucker. My maths not that bad. Know the situation before being sarcarstic to lao niang ok. @#$%

Anyway, the convention wasn't that much fun though. Me and Feng missed the DotA competition. Imagine being paid $5000 to play games. Only saw the people playing CS, which I sucked at. Quite sad. Models there not pretty also. Like very young and seriously, I would prefer the babes at car shows or even IT shows. At least their figures better than the GCA ones. =P

Anyway, spent about less than an hour there and I left cause we were rushing to catch a movie. Furthermore nothing much to see. The best booth ought to be the EA games and Nintendo one. The rest...sigh. Chew was there with his gf, but he couldn't get thru to me and we no fate. Saded. OK..gotta ciaoz. Wana play an hr of The Sims before I sleep tonight. LoL

I Am A Canivore..So I Thought

Wanted to go Carnivore for a very long time. So last month, Feng brought me to the Vivo branch and it was our first time there.



Me is jiak bak (eat meat), I like meat. My cousin-in-law called me and my cousin carnivores cause we like to eat meat. Just look at the choices available lor!! I'm spoilt for choices man!! I'm a beef girl..not just that I'm beefy in size, but I like beef!!




This part is a little like Marche though. When you show the green side, the waiters will keep serving you meat and coming to ask if you want this or that. But it doesn't seem so effective cause even though both Feng and me had put the red color, we had waiters coming up to us asking if we still want more meat.



This was highly recommended by the staff. It's some Brazil soda drink. Don't know why got Japanese words. Tastes like Zapple la.



Salad is buffet style. Take all you want if you can finish all. Took some octopus, creamy cai xin (I prefer Billy Bomber's creamy spinach), eggplant, sauteed onions, potato salad, some cherry tomatoes and pasta. The potato salad not nice de. In the end I threw the whole load of potato on Feng's plate. =]


The waiter told us if we find the meat too saltish, add the thing on the left. If we find it too oily and sickening, eat some salsa on the right. In the middle were 2 small cheese bread which we ate before I remembered to take this pic. LoL. So paiseh...



Piangz, I eat finish these and I couldn't move le lor. Waste of money. And I thought I was a carnivore. But after finishing these, I actually went to vomit (meat overload) and since I don't like salsa, I had to bear with it. But let me tell you which is the nicest. It's not the beef though..it's the lamb. DAMN NICE!! Oh yah, Gene says must try their pineapples. Since I don't like pineapples, I didn't try. Neither did Feng cause he knows I can't stand the smell. LoL. OK. End liao. So in conclusion, I'm not really a hardcore carnivore afterall! LoL.

2 Different Occasions - Red & White

I'm currently at M Hotel waiting for the wedding to start. I'm so bored here cause silly Vera only invited me from our secondary school. The remaining guests are her colleagues and friends from JC and uni.

Me is bored lor! I'm put with her colleagues I guess..anyway..as I mentioned..one red one white. A friend's father just passed away today and I was informed while on the way home from school today. I'll be going down for the wake tml cause today's Vera's big day..have to give her face. Love you girl..thanks for inviting me to the wedding..but hurry start la! @%£*&

Tml have to go school..yawn..me is tired de..now 815 le..should have stayed home till later..lol..ok me go fa dai liao and see if I can login to msn...

Ala Carte Buffet @ Paramount Restaurant

Last Sat after studying at Simei, my parents picked me up and we went to Paramount Restaurant for dinner. We made a reservation for 4 at 6:30pm. And we were there at 630pm. Supposedly to go there for dinner and ever since Thomas' wedding, I've been craving for their ee-fu noodles.



Mom suggested we go for the ala carte buffet. This one gotta ask specially as it's not stated on the menu or anything. Get 4 or more pax and then you can enjoy this special rate. Order anything you want from the special menu as many times as you want. Take note though, those menu in boxes can only be ordered once per pax.



We ordered salmon sashimi..it was so fresh till we ordered 3 plates of this! Too bad they didn't provide lemon slices. Just soy sauce and wasabi. It would taste better with lemon...



This is the Beijing roast duck. Not crispy de. It tastes like normal duck. And skin little lotsa meat. I mean, the main idea of Beijing roast duck is to eat the skin only right? But ok lah, not bad. Tung Lok leh.



This is the 油浸笋壳鱼 (fried Soon Hock). Dad liked this so much we ordered 2 plates. It's not small also wor. And it's tasty. Seriously nice. Both plates we ate till left bones only.



This is the mini buddha jump over wall that mom and my aunt ordered. Don't really like it. It tastes like herbal chicken soup. According to my mom, there's abalone inside and some other stuff. I still don't like it.



Steamed life prawns. Need I say more? Fresh and hot. Too bad daddy sway, he got one that wasn't fresh.



Sautéed Scallops with Celery in X.O. Sauce. Scallops damn nice! But I don't like celery so I just "attacked" the scallop.



My sharks fin soup!!! NICE!!! My aunt said a bowl of starch. But I still find it nice and tasty. Cause I like shark fin soup ma. Haha!



This is dad's favourite: Poached Spinach with Three Eggs. I would prefer the one at Seafood Paradise though.



This 十全药材烧鸭 (roast duck with chinese herbs) is WOW I tell you. If I wasn't that full already, I would have ordered another one. Can fight with Dian xiao er lor. This is what roast duck should be; crispy skin and tender meat.



I think this hsould be "Nan Jing" Style marinated Duck Meat. I don't like this. Cause I can't eat the wings due to my braces. I ate a little of the meat though but it lost to the roast duck with chinese herbs. We didn't finish the whole thing. Not nice de.



I always thought Crystal Jade has the nicest Braised Spicy Eggplant with Minced Pork in Claypot. That is until I tried this. From that day onwards, I'm beginning to love this more than the one at Crystal Jade. It has salted fish inside!! I like.



I like sweet and sour pork but I don't like yam ring. So this dish, Sweet and Sour Pork served in Yam Ring, doesn't really suit me. Furthermore the pork isn't very nice. I prefer the one at Huang Jia, Kallang Leisurepark. That one has the best sweet and sour pork I'd eaten so far.



Mom ordered Seafood Salad with Fresh Fruits. Each pax has ½ a prawn each and ½ a crabstick. But then this isn't the special box de, so can order as many as you want. It's nice, but dad forbid me to take too much seafood as I'm allergic to them, so we only ordered one plate. =[



This 吊烧童子鸡 (Cantonese roast chicken) is the same one served at Thomas' wedding. The skin is crispy and the meat is so tender, it seemed easy to eat even with my braces. My favourite kind. They have a small dish of salt and pepper for taste. =]



Main purpose is this!! My ee-fu noodles!! But damn full by then, so only ate one bowl. Furthermore, it tastes nicer during Thomas' wedding. =P But then my parents and aunt agreed that it's nice. Aunt even said that the noodles must be flown in from HK daily. Which I don't think so. But it's nice, nicer than wherever I had eaten.



OMG. After dinner must take dessert ma!! Chilled Sago Cream with Honey Dew is the way to go!! I ordered 2 servings of this!! Too damn nice!!!!! Piangz, now I got craving for this liao. Lots of sago and desserts are supposed to be sweet. Sweet! I like..LoL. *Drool*



We ordered Century Eggs with Pickled Ginger as well as Glutinous Dumpling with Sesame Filling. Total bill? Around $160. Yes, it comes up to about $40/pax. But then we got to eat so many dishes, and furthermore, we had $20 voucher! Yeah! Actually quite wu hua (value for money) since we can order lots of stuff. If we were to order ala carte, I doubt we can have that many dishes for $160. I can't wait for the next trip down. I want my honeydew sago.....

Sofra - Turkish Food In Singapore

This is a very back dated entry that I didn't have the time...or mood to update. On National Day, me and Feng decided to go out and grab something to eat, shun bian catch a movie. So he suggested going Shaw and I suggested going to Sofra to have dinner. It was his first time and my 3rd time there.



That's not water or anything. Feng ordered a Turkish coffee if I'm not wrong. And the cup was that small. But the power of the caffine...WOW I tell you. It's gao gao (thick) one lor. Best was the grounded coffee seeds were settled at the bottom so when he was about to finish the drink, he ate alot of coffee seeds. LoL.



That's Cacik. Feng's appetiser. It's cucumber with yoghurt. The smell of the cucumber was very strong. I didn't want to try it since I don't really like cucumber or yoghurt. Feng didn't finish it either. It's a little saltish and sweet..we're just not used to it.



My sultan Kebap. It's lamb, mashed potato and cheese. The cheese is covering the mash potato. And the lamb...it's so nice!! Doesn't have the sickening smell of lamb and..piangz, cheese and mashed potato, what combination can be better than this?



I believe this is Sofra yaprak tavuk, which is chicken meat stuffed with something...and mashed potato.



My phone camera not very good, so pardon the pics. But this is what it's stuffed with. I can't really confirm if it's yaprak tavuk, but most likely it is. Note the cheese. Me and Feng both love cheese. LoL. I still prefer my sultan kebap though. =P



This is the reason why I suggested going to Sofra to eat. This is also the one thing that made me wana go back again and again. It's Turkish Rice Pudding!! Nice nice!! Sweet de. When my parents went over to Turkey last year, they came back and told me they couldn't eat a single bite of the desserts over there cause it's just too sweet. And trust me, this rice pudding is sweet as well. At first Feng wanted to order one, but I told him to try mine first, cause even I have to admit it's too sweet. Well, my serving came, he tried and ordered another one. In the end he ate 1.5 cause I couldn't finish mine. =P




Since it was National Day, there were fireworks. Guess what? We caught the fireworks while enjoying our dinner. It's just so qiao we were there. And so qiao we saw the fireworks..part of it I guess. We were blocked by some buildings. But then, to enjoy the fireworks without squeezing with loads of people AND enjoying the aircon, food and company....what could be better?

Studying Is More Tiring Than Working

When I was working previously, I am able to quarrel with Feng until 2 - 3am, and still be able to wake up at 815 to go work. And I still can be awake to do my work from 9 - 6. However, ever since school started, I've to have at least 8hrs of sleep. Or more.

Yesterday I slept at around midnight, and was supposed to wake up at 7am today. You know what? Students get Monday blues too. I couldn't get up and had to drag my body to the bathroom. Got to school on time (stupid bus was late) and promptly doze off a couple of times during lecture. It's either I'm tired or the lecturer is too boring. I choose the latter cause most of my lecturemates were sleeping (those who chose to sit behind) also. I was quite awake during the last 10min of my lecture though.

Lunch came and I was still awake. I even bought a cup of choco-latte from the vending machine just in case I fall asleep during tutorial. Which me and Chew did. Although I believe I dozed off more than him. That's why I chose to sit in the corner ma. 2hrs of tutorial was hell for me cause I was doing everything I can to keep myself awake (which includes drawing cartoons on Chew and Duo Nan's textbooks, slapping myself and eating sweets) and every minute seemed to crawl by so slowly.

See now 10+pm and I'm already going to go sleep le. Heng tomorrow's class is at 10am, which means I can wake up at 8am. I need sleep. Tml's Pinocchio's class. Have to stay awake. Oh shit. My STAT1060 tutorial haven't do yet. My IRHR1001 report haven't started..and it's 1200 words essay!! Shit..have to do by this week cause hand up on 16th!! Shit shit. Everyday also got homework one.

I'm still puzzled why study (more relaxed) is more tiring than working. Is it because nothing to do then keep hearing the lecturers talk and talk...that's why fell asleep? Whatever. I'm tired. And I'm not feeling ok. Go sleep liaoz. Tml going to stay behind and do tutorial with Chew. Maybe start on my IRHR also. 1200 words lor. Nights all.

I'm Not Ok

I'm seriously not ok. I'm having cold sores again. My psoriasis is having an outbreak again. All these shows that I'm either under stress or am not happy...or both.

I need a drink and a smoke...make that alot of smoking...I'm going crazy soon. Real soon. Someone kill me please before I do it myself.

Studying On a Weekend

OMG. I can't believe it. I've been at Simei Starbucks since like 11am. And I finished my econs homework!!! Yeah!! I'm with Chew, Calvin and Justin. LoL. I'm studying on a weekend!! OMG OMG OMG.

OK..break's over. Need to go do my accounts assignment liaoz. Ciaoz!

Too Young or Lack of EQ?

Was doing my STAT1060 project with my group members the other day when one of the members asked the remaining of us why do we study at PSB since we already have a degree? He's from China you see, and the remaining 3 of us are Singaporeans. So to this, the youngest member (a female age 21 this year) replied:

A dip is like kopidiam...very common and low class
A normal deg is like foodcourt...common but higher class
An honours deg is like cafe...higher class than foodcourt
A masters is like a restaurant...high class
phd is like high class restaurant...expensive and damn high class
The more you study the more high class you are.

OK..either she's too young or she has low EQ. What makes you think that the more you study the more high class you are? LoL. It just means you've more knowledge, therefore your boss will give you more shits to do, which means you will be paid more since your shit is more. THAT'S ALL. Doesn't have ANYTHING to do with high class or what. For someone who don't even know the logo of Mont Blanc (somemore she was using the pen and she don't know it's Mont Blanc) or pronounce it properly (it's mon-t blah-nck..not mant blank), who are you to talk about class?

Kids. Sheesh.

How Much Is Enough?

I was waiting for bus this morning when I bumped into my primary school friend. So I sat down beside him and we both waited for the bus. His work place is rather near my school you see. Anyway, we started talking and all. On the bus, I asked him why he didn't buy a car instead, since his workplace is at Harbourfront and he has to travel often cause he's doing sales. To this he replied," I'm not earning enough."

Since he's a grad, I assumed that he's earning about 3K+. He told me that it's lesser than that. So I asked if it's 2K+ and he still said it's lesser than that. So I got it. He's earning $4K+. And he's complaining that he's not earning enough? Hello..this is like his first proper job after he grad and he's earning 4K+ and has increment every 6 months. And that's not considered enough? I was earning 2K previously only ok!

Anyway, he told me that with the money he had to spend on the car (inclusive of loans, carpark coupons, ERP etc etc), he would have to part with $1500 every month. And being the business grad he is, he started calculating to me that how much he could have saved per year and all. He further explained to me that even though banks tell you it's 2.5% interest, you're actually paying 10%. Yada yada. To this he concludes that he will not purchase the car until he earns more. FYI, he was my classmate back in primary school. Not that difficult to guess his age.

Then our topic drifted to marriage. He told me that he is not earning enough to sustain a gf now or to get married. Not enough again? So how much is enough? I guess you can't really put a ceiling to remunerations cause when your earning increase, so does your expenditures.

Back in poly, I eat at kopidiams, food court and occassionally, at cafes. When I started working, my visits to such places are almost zero. I've to go places where I'm being served. I eat at restaurants and such. But then my mom instilled the good habit of saving money to me since I was young, so my savings went up as well. =]

Oh yah, I'm now still in school and waiting for my dad to pick me up cause just finished the assignment session with Chew. It's going to rain again. -_-"

You know..sometimes I wish I can just turn back clock and seriously study hard and maybe, just maybe, I would be where I am today many years ago. =] I'm lagging behind my mates alot. I've a lot to catch up to them. =] Who knows..when I grad, when I'm earning 4K, I'll say that I'm not earning enough too.....

I Want An Ipod Nano

Imagine every morning, dragging yourself out of the bed to go school/work. And along the way, you just want to find something to do other than staring into blank space. So what do you do? Take out a storybook to read? It's only applicable if you have enough space to hold the book up. When I take MRT in the morning, it gets so crowded at Aljunied till I can't breathe sometimes and almost fainted on a couple of occassions. (OK think I've breathing problems) I can't read a book coz the train is like so packed till my butt is sticking to someone else's butt. I need IPOD!! I wana listen to my songs...

Anyone wana buy me an Ipod Nano? AND in my favourite color green? Christmas is coming you know...*Bats eyelids*

My Horoscope For The Day

Quite zhun hor? Keke. I went out with Feng today! Hahahaha. I sms him everyday when I go school. So today, I know that he's not working, so I sms-ed him asking if he wana meet me after my tuition. He called me during my breaktime and said to wake him up at 430pm and we will go out. Yeah!!! Damn happy.

After tuition, I walked over to his block and waited for him. We decided to go somewhere near since he wana be home early and I'm just too tired to travel far. (Thomas jiemei ah..your wedding was great by the way!) We went there and decided to watch Clone Wars. Or rather I suggested one. But so damn sway Feng remembered something about me saying I hate Star Wars. LoL. So he bought tickets to Wall-E while I was in the bathroom. WALL-E IS JUST SO DAMN CUTE!!

The movie reminded of me and Feng lor. He's the Wall-e (curious and the actions he did!!) and I'm like Eva (hot tempered and didn't realise the things we treasure most until it's lost). But like what the above mentioned..I've to keep things slow. So it's like a new relationship but not. If you get what I mean. =)

Anyway I bought mooncakes for his family and he was laughing when I said that I'm a good girl now. He said that I must be forever like this (wah piang..take my life sua lah...haha) cannot be the old me. -_-" It's akin to asking a carnivore stop eating meat and start eating veggies. But I believe after the various incidents...our relationship can start to grow stronger le....ok gotta go sleep liao. Damn tired..assignments not done yet!! SHIT!! Nites!
